The Barn in Seatoller offers comfortable self catering accommodation for up to 4 people in the heart of the beautiful Borrowdale Valley. The Barn benefits from a perfect situation with superb walking from the door and is surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery including Glaramara, Fleetwith Pike Great Gable, High Spy and Dale Head.

There are two snug bedrooms, a king and a twin, to sleep 4 people and a cosy open plan living area with original beams. The Barn has been refurbished by the owners to provide high quality accommodation with excellent facilities for walkers including a generous utility room with washing machine, dryer and hanging space for outdoor clothes. Bikes, kayaks and other outdoor equipment can be stored securely too. The accommodation is arranged over the first floor with original features.

Seatoller has a good bus service linking with Keswick all year round and Buttermere between April and October allowing you to make the most of the superb linear walks in the valley. Borrowdale is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District and is blessed with an endless choice of walks, several good hotels for dining out and some lovely little tearooms. Seatoller House, directly opposite The Barn, offers packed lunches for walkers and five-course dinners (pre-booking required). The Glaramara Hotel which is just down the road also offers excellent morning coffee and a range of local beers, they usually have a sign out when it's open to the public.

Keswick is only 7 miles away and is easily accessible by public transport. The town has plenty of pubs, cafes and shops. There is a popular weekly market, an Art Deco cinema and a theatre. The Barn is at the foot of the Honister Pass, a high mountain road leading to Buttermere where there are more superb walks, two pubs and an ice cream parlor serving delicious homemade ice cream.

The owners of the cottage are happy to accept a well behaved dog at the cottage. There is livestock in the fields around the cottage so it is best to keep dogs on a lead during your stay. Please feel free to contact the office if you would like to have a chat with us about this.
