Cyclists, too, will delight in direct access onto the network of bridleways as well as the opportunity to tackle the Lakeland passes.

Threlkeld offers easy access onto the A66, opening up the entire region for you to explore. Bustling Keswick is just 10 minutes away by car offering a range of cafes, restaurants and independent shops plus the renowned Theatre by the Lake. Keswick is also the place to head to for a wide range of outdoor adventure sports or a peaceful cruise on beautiful Derwentwater. The historic houses at Dalemain, Mirehouse and Hutton in the Forest offer the chance to look back to a slower age, tour the houses and gardens all of which are very different and then relax in the beautiful gardens before treating yourself in the cafes! Follow the Wordsworth trail to Grasmere and Cockermouth or find your own daffodils on the shores of Ullswater.

The holiday home has been in the family of the current owners since it was built in 1976. A  detached house with a beautiful garden it is comfortable and spacious, the perfect place for spending quality time with friends and family.

Entering through the front door into a welcoming hallway there is a useful downstairs cloakroom with toilet on the left, continuing on past the stairs, a grandfather clock and umbrella stand you will start to get the feel of this house as a real home from home to relax in. Coat hooks and a boot  rack are tucked into a nook with a small wooden pew alongside. At the end of the hallway is the large dual aspect living room which is a lovely bright room with timber beams, wood floor and local artwork on the walls. There area two two-seater sofas and two chairs which surround a coffee table and an open coal fire for sociable evenings in making wonderful memories of happy times. When you tire of watching the flames in the fire there is a freeview TV with DVD player and a selection of DVDs to choose from, there are also shelves full of books and games for all the family and the drop leaf table with two chairs by the window is perfect for family board games.

A door in the corner of the living room leads into the well-equipped kitchen which can also be reached from the hallway. With a dining table seating six in the centre of the room, this is a lovely social space for family meals. There is plenty of worktop space, well equipped cupboards and space for storage, all the mod cons include an electric hob, eye-level oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher, under counter fridge and freezers and a washing machine. The window looks over the back garden so you can look out for red squirrels while you cook.

Upstairs the first of the three carpeted bedrooms off the landing is a pretty twin room at the front of the house with beautiful views over the valley to the fells stretching into the distance beyond. A bedside table is shared between the beds and there is also a chair and a wardrobe with drawers below.

Continuing down the landing on the right is the family bathroom. Big, modern, bright and stylish with a large bath and a separate shower.

At the end of the landing on the left you will find the double bedroom. With views out over the garden to Blencathra through the trees, you will be enjoying a morning cuppa in bed with just birdsong as an accompaniment. Bedside tables with lamps, dressing table, a chest of drawers and hooks with hangers on the wall provide plenty of storage in this lovely bright room.

Finally at the end of the landing is a bunk bed room. Again this room has lovely views onto the back garden, cleverly laid out with lots of empty floor space for children to play. A chair, chest of drawers, shelves and hanging hooks will keep belongings tidy.

Back downstairs the door into the garden leads off the kitchen. Just to the right is the back door of the garage which can also be accessed through the automatic garage door from the front making it perfect for storing bikes. Lovingly designed and hand built by the current owner the garden is a haven of tranquillity, full of wildlife and a beautiful private spot to relax and wind down. Winding paths, a lawn surrounded by trees and shrubs and a gravelled patio with table and chairs providing glimpses of the fells through the trees, the sound of the neighbouring beck completes the idyllic scene. Enjoy a drink, eat alfresco, sit quietly and enjoy the wildlife or come out at night, lie back and gaze at the stars. At the front of the house is another lawned area surrounded by flower beds which is private enough to sit out on and soak up the afternoon sun.
