We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Apple Tree House. It was our second holiday to the Lake District and was perfectly positioned for exploring the Lakes. We went on some lovely walks around Loweswater and Buttermere (our favourite lake).
The cottage was the perfect place to return to after some very rainy walks and was so relaxing with the open fire, cosy living room and sky box with on demand.
The garden was perfectly secure for our labrador so we didn't have to worry about him escaping at all. The garden is lovely and I'm sure would be beautiful in the better weather.
There isn't any amenities in the village of Ullock itself, however it's only a short drive into Cockermouth. There was a road closure whilst we were there, which mean't having to drive down a very narrow, very muddy road to get to and from the cottage. However, it was to be expected given the circumstances and the weather.
Overall the cottage was lovely, very well equipped and we would definitely return.

Danielle, Thank you for your feedback - I'm delighted you enjoyed your holiday. Apple Tree House is a real home from home isn't it? Sounds like you enjoyed some fabulous walks - I bet the open fire was a welcome treat of an evening after all that fresh air! I hope you will return to the Lakes very soon for your next holiday.

Such a lovely cottage, the welcome pack was a nice touch. We would have loved to have used the fire more but the weather for our two week stay was glorious! Owners are friendly and helpful. The Royal Yew does good food and dog friendly. Bed was so comfortable! The only downside is that there isn't a local shop, meaning you have to drive into Cockermouth or Workington. Would definitely stay again.
