Albert Cottage is a self catering cottage for 4 people in Irton, between Eskdale and Wasdale. The cottage has been tastefully renovated to provide fresh and modern accommodation with contemporary furnishings and decor. Albert Cottage has the added advantage of an eco-wood pellet burning stove that heats the cottage and provides a warm focal point in the winter.
The cottage is situated in the grounds of historic Irton Hall where both Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI have visited. The 1000 year old oak tree is known as The King's Oak and is said to be where Henry spent the night after being refused shelter at Irton Hall by the Yorkist owner. Guests at Albert Cottage are welcome to enjoy the mature grounds of Irton Hall and use the free wifi in the bar. Meals and drinks are served in the bar.
This is a very special location to enjoy the mountains and lakes of the western Lake District whilst remaining within striking distance of the coast and the lovely coastal village of Ravenglass.
