Fantastic stay at the Hayloft. Very comfortable. Lovely peaceful setting with some great views. Enjoyed watching the red squirrels and birds from the house.

Comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped in a stunning location.
Need to be aware that the road past the cottage is narrow with passing spaces, but thankfully did not have much traffic
Great location for walks in the Scafell Pike area, with a good selection of more local walks ranging from scenic riversides to fells (Muncaster fell was great although some paths boggy in places). You can walk a short distance down the lane from the Hayloft to walk up onto the fells behind the cottage.
The Bower House Inn (10 min drive) served excellent food at a reasonable price (best to book even on a Monday evening).
We saw Tesco and Morrisons delivery vans go past the cottage, so I expect they deliver locally.

Hi David, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? You couldn't have chosen a better location if you enjoy getting out on the fells.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Hayloft has everything you need for an ‘away from it all’ Holiday. The location is quite remote but the views are stunning all around. The nearest local shop was 3 miles away. The accommodation was excellent. This is an upside down property with all the facilities upstairs except for one bedroom. There was an external stairway to the front door which is equipped with a stairlift if required. The front door opens onto the living area which was spacious, the kitchen very well stocked with all the equipment you needed for cooking in and the plumbed In large fridge/freezer was brilliant. The 2 en-suite bedrooms were airy and spacious. Bathrooms were very clean and modern. The let was always warm and cosy. There is Basic Wi-fi (less than 1Mbps download speed) so you you’d to struggle to stream music etc. There is a Sky package but the Wi-fi speed meant you couldn’t use it to its full capacity. This didn’t bother us too much but it might other guests. The property owner lives next door and was so friendly and helpful. We had a great weeks stay and didn’t want it to end, we certainly would return again.
