General Description

When you arrive into Portinscale, you will pass the Farmers Arms on your left and will come to a sharp bend in the road. You will see Harney Peak on the bend, then turn into the private parking area: number 7 is located to the rear. A private parking space is available right outside your door!  As you enter into the apartment, an inner hallway has storage space for coats and boots. There is a cupboard containing a table and two chairs which may be used on the patio area outside.

The double bedroom has been stylishly decorated in calming hues of pastel green and all of the furnishings are beautifully put together. The bedroom has matching solid wood furniture, including a bedside cabinet with lamp to one side of the bed, a dressing table with stool, mirror and lamp to the other side, a double wardrobe, and a padded bench seat next to the large window. The bench seat contains an alternative duvet so that you have a choice of both summer and winter weights. There is a wall-mounted television, so you can catch up on the news in the morning before you get up! The modern en suite bathroom has a twin-head shower in a double-sized cubicle with sliding glass door (slip mat available), a heated towel rail, sink with lit mirror, and a toilet.

The open plan kitchen-living-dining room is really bright and spacious, with dimmer lights to create a more ambient feel in the evenings. The dining area has a table with two chairs and there is a large map of the Lake District mounted on the wall, so you can get your bearings before you head out each day! The modern kitchen is well equipped with all of the facilities you are likely to need for a  self catering holiday, including integrated fan-assisted oven with automatic gas hob, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave. The cupboards are well stocked with utensils and there is even a flask and lunch boxes for taking out onto the fells - the owners have really thought of everything for your comfort! There is a washer-dryer, an iron, ironing board and clothes airer. A range of cleaning products are also provided.

The two comfortable armchairs in the living room area face towards a large window, which has views up to the fells in the distance. For entertainment there is a smart TV, superfast WiFi and DAB radio. On the coffee table you will find a welcome folder offering more information about your accommodation and the local area. The bookcase holds a range of novels, plenty of local OS maps, walking guides and leaflets about local attractions. 7 Harney Peak is a great place for recounting the day's adventures or planning tomorrow's!

There is a patio area outside the apartment with potted plants including herbs for use during your stay. Although the patio looks out onto a small parking area, it is a real suntrap and offers lovely views out over the fells, so is a nice space for enjoying a cup of tea or glass of wine at the end of each day.

Whilst 7 Harney Peak does not accept dogs, the apartment is not dog-free so should not be considered suitable for those with pet allergies.
