Great little cottage, the only drawback was the flight of steps up to the grassed area - very steep! The previous comments re light from the street lamp opposite has now been resolved - lovely curtains and a roller blind now fitted.

Hello Gillian, You really can't beat getting away from it all, can you? I hope you will plan a return visit to the beautiful Lakes very soon!

We loved our stay here. The cottage is homely and comfortable and is the perfect location for walks on the fells and pottering around the centre of Keswick. No negatives to report.

Inside the cottage is fresh, modern and well-equipped, with the downstairs a nice big open plan area and with a good, spacious bathroom upstairs.
Very well situated for all the amenities in Keswick, with plenty of room for off-road parking in the private shared carpark round the back. This is good, as we've found many older self-catering cottages can have tricky parking. However, if you're bringing a car-load of stuff you definitely need to unload on the street at the front: the description suggest this, but without mentioning that direct access to the garden and carpark is up a short step-ladder (unless you take a much longer way round all the backdoors), so not good for carting bags.
The garden was surprisingly peaceful so close to the town centre and has a nice bench with (in good weather, which we had all week) a view of the fells over the rooftops.
Minor quibble - the previous occupants had put away dishes and pans not properly cleaned, with some bits of food etc. Their bad, though a cleaner check could have spotted this.
Major quibble - as another guest has mentioned, the front bedroom is very lit-up by a streetlight right outside and also by the carpark lights just across the street. In the event there were just two of us staying, so we slept in the back bedroom. This should be easily resolved if the owner just gets some blackout curtains and/or blinds (the curtains that were up were pretty translucent). In the meantime we'd suggest packing eye-masks.
Overall though we had a pleasant stay and would book again if the curtain issue was fixed.
