Bexley, Kent Couple
- 6 Forest Houses is a lovely, comfortable house in a quiet, peaceful area of the Lake District. This was our second year in succession staying in this house, and when the weather keeps you indoors, then you could do a whole lot worse than relaxing in the comfortable lounge and dining room, and well-equipped kitchen. The photos don’t really do the house justice: it’s a lot larger than it appears, and although it is in a terrace of houses, it is very quiet, and you certainly aren’t aware of any neighbours
The area is beautiful; great walks from the door into Ennerdale and up the valley or around the lake; the Fox and Hounds pub is within 100 yards, with huge portions of good pub grub when you get back from a day walking, really friendly staff, and great Cumbrian ales on hand pump. Fifty yards from the house in the other direction is the Gather, a community-run cafe, for tea, coffee, cakes, bread, milk, etc.
I’d most definitely recommend 6 Forest Houses.
