General Description

6 Forest Houses sleeps up to five people in two double beds and one single. The cottage has been stylishly refurbished; it is light and airy and features an enclosed front garden, a semi-enclosed rear garden and private parking.

Upon entering the cottage, you will find yourself in a spacious hallway in which coats and muddy boots can be stored away in the utility cupboard under the stairs. Walk straight on and you enter the kitchen, which is a good size, looks over the back garden and features an electric double oven and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer unit and washing/dryer. There are child locks in place on the cupboard under the sink. A Nescafe coffee machine and a selection of capsules are supplied.

The layout of this cottage flows well and the living room /dining room can be accessed from either the hallway, the kitchen or the back garden via French doors. This large room has a double aspect to the front and rear. A large wood burning stove has been set in a local sandstone hearth, which sets off the attractive bare floorboards and luxurious hearth rug. Furniture comprises of a three-seater and large two-seater sofa and a dining table for up to six people, TV with Freeview and DVD player, along with a selection of books, DVDs and board games.

Upstairs are the two double bedrooms, single bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom and single bedroom each contain built-in wardrobes and views over the front garden, the lane and Cragg and Bowness Fells. The master bedroom also has a luxurious armchair in which to snuggle up with a good book for peace and quiet. The second double bedroom has a large wardrobe and overlooks the back garden towards the moorland of Salter and Kirkland. The Lake District's famous Herdwick sheep can often be seen grazing in the fields beyond the property. The bathroom contains a bath, over-bath shower, WC, storage baskets and a heated towel rail.

There are gardens to the front and rear; the front garden is completely enclosed (safe for toddlers), with lawn and enclosed by a beautiful beach hedge. The rear is not enclosed, but contains a table and four chairs and a shed in which to store bikes. Private parking is available at both the front and rear of the house.
