Derwentwater is a ten minute walk from the Eskin Street and here you can hire rowing boats, take a trip on the launch or explore the paths around the lakeshore. The mountains surrounding Keswick are within easy reach – Catbells, the Coledale Horseshoe and Blencathra are all a great day’s walk, as well as Skiddaw and Latrigg.
On top of being known as the ‘Adventure Capital of England’, Keswick also hosts a variety of events and festivals – there is the Film Festival in February, Words by the Water in March, the Jazz festival in May and the Beer Festival in June to name but a few.
