- The property is potentially very good, but some members of our party were offended by the smell from the drains. Others, including myself, were hardly aware of it.
The staff at Sally's Cottages were at pains to point out that this was an issue that was under investigation. We were unlikely to find an alternative for eight people with no notice whatsoever at half term so we just put up with it.
It was a shame as the property is well located, the kitchen equipment is good, the bedrooms are nice and the bathing facilities are fine. The lounge is spacious, but everyone commented on how uncomfortable the seating was. It looks very nice, but there the complements end.
Finally two members of our party slipped on the stairs ( without the assistance of alcohol!). The steps are quite short and need to be negotiated very carefully.

Thank you for your review for 41 Wordsworth Street - I am sorry that your stay was affected by the smell at the property. As you mention, the issue wasn't a quick fix and the drains were thoroughly checked ahead of your arrival. The problem has now been resolved, after extensive investigation. I would have been happy to chat through any concerns you had at the time. I am also sorry to hear that two members of your group slipped on the stairs - I will liaise with the owners of the property about your all of your feedback, so that they are able to take this on board. In fact they have now replaced the sofa in the lounge following your comments. I hope you are able to return to Keswick and the Lake District very soon.
