There is ample walking on the surrounding fells including Bowscale, Bannerdale, Souther Fell and Blencathra. The quiet lanes of Mosedale and Mungrisdale are ideal for cycling. The scenic lanes undulate for miles and the Coast to Coast route passes close by.
There is a modern kitchen and spacious dining area at 4 Town End. If you fancy eating out there are several excellent country pubs in the near vicinity. The Mill Inn at Mungrisdale is a mile away whilst Hesket Newmarket and Caldbeck both have good pubs and are within a ten minute drive.
4 Town End is equidistant from Keswick, Penrith and Ullswater. Keswick is a popular market town for outdoor enthusiasts whilst Penrith is a busy Cumbrian town with plenty of shops and on the edge of the Eden Valley. Ullswater is one of the largest lakes in the Lake District and is surrounded by some of the tallest and most exciting mountains. There is also a steamer boat service on the lake.
