The welcome we received and helpfulness from Val was excellant. The house was so well equipped it was a joy to stay there. The owners were so helpful about places to visit and where to eat and shop locally. We fully intend to return as one of the best holiday properties we have enjoyed staying in ten out of ten.

Hello Mrs Weale, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you had such a lovely break. The location is perfect for strolling into Cockermouth isn't it? And there's so many places of interest just a short drive away, I hope you enjoyed exploring. Come back any time, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

This was a good value base for the Western Lake District, with pleasant and friendly owners and neighbours. The location in the centre of Cockermouth is really convenient for the numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs, without being noisy or busy.
The kitchen was well -equipped, everything was spotlessly clean, excellent over-bath shower, the beds were comfortable.
A couple of thoughts: the bathroom could do with a heated towel rail, as its internal configuration made it difficult to keep towels for four people dry and aired; and the fridge was not really large enough for a house sleeping five.
Through no fault of the owners, the allocated parking on a listed and beautiful cobbled stand to the front of the property, is awkward to access due to subsidence after Storm Desmond in 2015. The Water Board are meant to have relaid it, but in the meantime, be careful when arriving in a car full of people and luggage!
