A wonderful cottage, cosy, yet spacious. Nice to have 2 bathrooms and a very good Kitchen with plenty of kit to work with, and including a super range cooker. Log burning stoves easy to light, no unwanted smoke and very efficient. Cottage hot water system absolutely wonderful, masses of piping hot water when ever required - essential for a wonderful hot shower (much needed if caught out wet through on the fells ,which we all did!). All very clean and tidy - will return at some point in time hopefully - thanks Caroline - a gem of a place.

Hi David, many thanks for your comments, sorry to hear you got a bit of a soaking - but that makes a nice hot shower all the sweeter, doesn't it? I'm delighted you had such a wonderful stay and would love to see you again!

Lovely cottage, good location for travelling around. Very clean and well equipped downstairs, large main bedroom but needed king size bed! Other bedrooms sparse and creaky bedframes but serviceable. Main problem was creaking floorboards upstairs - can't believe nobody mentioned it before! Every board creaked so no avoiding, bearable for a week ( as long as you all went to bed at same time). Took previous reviewers advice and did Sainsbury's delivery for night we arrived, great idea and nearest shop is Booths 10 mins away. Strangely dogs not welcome at all pubs when eating,so limited local options. Anglers arms didn't look very inviting,Rusland pool no dogs but good food. Amigos Mexican in ulverston great place, highly recommend. Steam train and boat return to bowness, walk to Windermere lunch then back, great day out. Motor museum good, you can take dogs in! Tarn how walk and Tom Gill waterfall, Sizergh castle, hill top and hawshead gallery all well worth visiting ( Wray castle not so much). All easily visited from cottage so good location. Good but hard cycling. 2 enclosed gardens with gates so small dog proof. Still no instructions for cooker,we managed but you need to turn timer on first, can understand why others had problems. Very hot at night even with heating off at rainy end sept. Don't know why but clearer instructions about heating may have helped or lighter weight duvets. All in all lovely holiday even though it rained.
