Overall, 2 Ridgemount was OK but sadly not great. It's fairly basic and does have everything you strictly need, but for our 7 night stay especially we would have appreciated more comforts and equipment.

Good points: the location is really great. It was well-placed for everything we wanted to do in the Lakes and is close to the town centre via a lovely quiet walk along the railway path. It is next to a road which did get quite loud during the day, however at night with the window closed the noise wasn't a disturbance. The temperature in the flat is also nice and easy to control, we were never too hot or too cold for very long.

Not so good points: unfortunately a few more of these! We were really disappointed with the cleanliness of the flat - there was grime and mould in the bathrooms and quite a lot of dust above head height. The noise from surrounding flats is annoying as other reviewers have mentioned and it would really come down to luck as to who was staying there - the most we were bothered by was conversations but if there were kids or people who liked to play loud music staying there I can imagine that would be a real disturbance. The parking was also pretty tight, we were ok because we've got a city car but anyone with a bigger car would likely struggle if the other spaces were occupied.

The main negative we had however was the general levels of comfort and equipment provided. One chopping board and one sharp knife in the kitchen isn't really sufficient for self-catering accommodation, and we were really disappointed with the flat pillows, creaky mattress and too-large cover for the duvet. Manageable for sure but as I mentioned not really ideal for a week's stay - it felt more like "making do" than a "home-from-home"!

Overall the flat served its purpose as a base for exploring the Lakes and would be fine for a weekend stay maybe, but for a week I've been much more impressed with other cottages I've visited post-pandemic.

Hi Sian, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so sorry to hear that some of the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived at the cottage. I really appreciate you bringing it to my attention, thank you. I'll make sure I address it with the cleaner. I really appreciate your other feedback and suggestions for improvement too, I'll make sure I look into everything you've mentioned.
You can always contact us here in the office if you have any issues during your stay and we'll do our best to resolve things as quickly as we can. I hope you still managed to enjoy your break, the location is ideal for heading into Keswick or exploring further afield isn't it? I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

The flat was very clean and tidy on arrival, well-equipped and comfortable. Access is up an outside staircase which wouldn't suit everyone and parking is very tight. The flat is a little out of Keswick, but there's a lovely 20 minute walk along a former railway line. Keswick itself is a great town, with places to eat and shop, and fabulous walks right on hand.

GB Solo trip.
I was having a lovely time at number 2 Ridgmount until the last evening of my three night break. This was when the downstairs neighbour came home, slammed their front door so hard that the whole building shook and then had their TV on so loud that I could actually figure out what they were watching from my room upstairs. This just completely spoiled my relaxation and I'm so glad I didn't have to put up with the noise right from the start of my stay.
On the plus side, the flat has a modern feel about it. It is spacious, clean, has an easy to use central heating system and hot water on demand.
The double bedroom has a nice comfy bed. The living room is ample size with an easy to use TV ready already programed and ready to use.
However, the seating arrangement in this room is two small two seater couches which although modern and quite new looking, they weren't the most comfy and not overly ideal for stretching out on after a full day in the fells.
The flat has allocated parking and my car felt secure parked there overnight.
Just a 20 minute stroll into Keswick. If it wasn't from the noise of the neighbours downstairs, I would definitely stay in this flat again.
