1 Wreay Cottage is a sweet little cottage situated next to the village church in the busy, vibrant village of Shap. With views of the open countryside, a spacious living room and light decor throughout, it boasts calming clean lines and a really lovely feel, just perfect for a couple or small family to have the perfect holiday!
Shap is a small village with lots to offer! The cottage is just a 5-minute walk from a couple of good pubs, tea rooms, shops, and even a heated open-air swimming pool (available between May and September)! For the walkers amongst you, you can take on part of Wainwright's Coast to Coast, or enjoy any of the vast array of fabulous routes in the surrounding area. Alternatively, why not visit Sleddale Hall (as seen in the cult film, Withnail and I), or take a trip to the impressive ruins of Shap Abbey?
Haweswater is your nearest lake, just 6 miles away, and provides access to many of the great Lake District peaks including High Street and Kidsty Pike, both of which can be seen from the cottage. The area around Haweswater is also home to an amazing amount of wildlife including deer, badgers and squirrels.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the present Coronavirus crisis the cottage is not available for rent until 1 August 2020. It will then only be available on alternate weeks until further notice. This will be reviewed in the autumn. Thank you for your understanding.
