1 Wreay Cottage is a sweet little cottage quietly situated next to the village Church in the busy, vibrant village of Shap, with views of the open countryside behind it. It is one of those cottages that has a lovely feel to it and it is perfect for couples and small families.
The cottage is warm and cosy and is just a five minute walk from all Shap’s main facilities – a couple of good pubs, tea rooms, shop and open air swimming pool (heated and open between May and September).
There are some fabulous walks right from the front door that take in part of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk, Sleddale Hall (as seen in Withnail and I) and Shap Abbey.
Haweswater is your nearest lake (6 miles) and provides access to many of the great Lake District peaks, including High Street & Kidsty Pike, both of which can be seen from the cottage.
