General Description

1 The Barns has been refurbished and modernised whilst retaining some lovely original features. The entrance porch has a slate floor and a heated drying cabinet for outdoor clothes along with a torch, umbrella, wood basket and ample storage for footwear and coats. 

This leads through to the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. The fully fitted kitchen has a slate floor and walk-in pantry and all modern appliances including a cooker, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. 

The sitting room benefits from a solid wood floor and a traditional multi fuel burner whilst the leather sofas offer comfortable seating around the wall-mounted TV. 1 The Barns is stocked with various maps, books and guides to the local area for walking, cycling and general sight-seeing. Modern storage heaters compliment the multi fuel stove.

For extra flexibility, a high quality pull-down king-size bed has been installed in the sitting room and is concealed behind sliding doors along with a small wardrobe. The bed is fully made up and allows the property to sleep up to 6 people. 

Upstairs are two bedrooms: a king-size and a twin. The king-size bedroom has a pine wardrobe and views across open fields towards Blencathra. The twin room also offers a further pull-out single bed (bedding provided, please request at the time of booking) as well as generous storage space, a TV and DVD player and games for all the family.

The family bathroom has a bath with an electric shower overhead, WC, washbasin and a heated towel rail.

Outside the garage contains a tumble dryer as well as storage space for bikes and other outdoor equipment. The garden patio at the front of the property has a sunny aspect, offers glorious views towards Blencathra, and comes complete with a barbecue, fire pit and garden furniture!
