General Description

The entrance doorway opens into the living room, which is comfortable and spacious, with a lovely view down to the lake from the window and seating for eight people. There is no TV as there's no reception because of the mountainous location but there is unlimited Wifi and plenty of books, playing cards and a whole cupboard of board games and jigsaw puzzels to keep you occupied!

There is a separate dining room with table and chairs for eight people.

The kitchen has modern units, electric oven & separate hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The back door leads from the kitchen into a small porch then out to the garden.

There is a separate, large utility room/pantry with a freezer, washing machine, ironing board & iron.

On the ground floor there is a double room which can be made into a twin upon request. There is an ensuite shower room with shower enclosure, basin and WC. A doorway from this bedroom leads onto a covered decking which has seating and views to the lake. Steps then lead down to the garden at the rear of the cottage.

On the first floor there is a large king bedroom, a triple bedroom which has a double and a single bed for the eigth person in your party. There is also a single bedroom, benefiting from a Velux window giving it a light airy feel.

The family bathroom has a bath, washbasin and WC. There is a small separate shower room and a further separate WC.

Outside there is a walled and fenced garden which has a stream running through it. There are stunning views down to the lake and across the valley to the majestic Buttermere fells, you can go fell walking in every direction from the front door and keen walkers can easily manage a different walk every day without getting in the car all week. Walking books and OS maps of the area are provided in the cottage.

Access to Bowderbeck cottage is via a short, steep path from the road which isn't really suitable for those less able.
