General Introduction
This Georgian farmhouse offers stylish accommodation for ten people. Many original features have been retained during refurbishment of this lovely house. It has a warm and comfortable sitting room with open fire, well equipped kitchen and dining room with original slate flags.
The gardens at Low Millgillhead are extensive with a large mature gardens to the front of the house, and a terraced garden to the back.
Lamplugh is a great starting point for exploring the rest of the Lake District. Loweswater Lake is three miles away and has fantastic woodland walks by the lake (with an award winning pub at the far end). Ennerdale Lake is four miles away in the opposite direction and this valley has been described as the loneliest in the Lake District.
As well as some of the best walking in the Lake District, there are plenty of activities to choose from – pony trekking, fishing, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and mountain biking. Cockermouth is your nearest town (10 mins) and has cafes, restaurants, pubs, independent shops (including some good antique shops), a small cinema and Sainsbury’s.
