Ennerdale

This is a place of seclusion and tranquillity and quiet. It is a place to really escape the continuous pre-occupation of moving too fast. Even by Lake District standards Ennerdale and its surrounding area is quiet. Life drops its pace here, so much so that you feel as if the ticking clock of time itself has been turned back to time before motorcars and motorways. On a clear day with the sun warming the back of your neck, the sound of stone under foot and a multitude of views that haven’t changed or been blighted since the first settlers arrived, even the most hardy of folk will melt into the back drop.

Situated in the very west of the Lakes, Ennerdale is on the doorstep to the most beautiful scenery in the country and 15 miles from the sea. The village is a throw back to the quaint white bleached walls of yesteryear.
