The home was awarded and presented with a Gold Award 2009 for excellence by a prestigious holiday company. Fine attention has been made to detail, creating a house that is beautiful throughout.
Nearby is Ravenglass, an ancient Roman sea port where you will find ‘La’al Ratty’ a miniature steam railway that runs 8 miles up the Eskdale Valley. Wastwater Lake (Britain’s favourite view 2007), Scafell Pike England’s tallest mountain and Muncaster Castle and Gardens are within a short Lakeland drive. There are many superb country pubs serving local produce, in the area, the nearest to High House is just an easy 10 minute walk!

Wasdale (4 miles)
With England's deepest lake (Wastwater), highest mountain (Scafell), smallest church (St Olafs) and biggest liar, Wasdale is well worth a visit and was voted "Britain's favourite view" in 2007. Click here for more information about Wasdale.

Ravenglass (4 miles)
This coastal village has the start of the Ravenglass and Eskdale steam railway. Muncaster Castle, with its gardens and owl centre is also worth a visit.

From Eskdale is Ambleside, a sometimes hair-raising journey over Hardknott and Wrynose passes (the steepest road in England).

Ennerdale (15 miles)
Ennerdale (6 miles away) is famed for being the Lake District's wild lake. You can walk round the bottom of it or venture up on the high fells around it.
