| HIDEAWAY BARN
Located in the sleepy hamlet of Ruthwaite, this beautifully
converted barn feels delightfully secluded, with a large garden
and patio area. It offers spacious and tasteful accommodation for
up to 6 people, with fabulous views of Skiddaw, the Caldbeck Fells
and Binsey. You can walk out of the door for miles up and along
the mountains of Great Cock Up and Skiddaw and not see a soul.

The ever-popular town of Keswick
is just 15 minutes drive away, with its unsurpassed range of outdoor
shops and many pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Derwentwater
Lake.

The kitchen door
Ruthwaite is also half a mile from the village of
Ireby, where the Red
Lion pub, built in the 18th century, serves real ales and home-cooked
food. Once a thriving market town, with a stone cross believed to
date back to 1200, Ireby is now a truly unspoilt, peaceful fell
village. A popular folk/roots
music festival is held there each spring.

A twenty minute evening stroll along a footpath by
the barn’s garden (or a five minute drive down quiet country
lanes) brings you to Uldale, with its links with Sir Hugh Walpole's
acclaimed ‘Herries’ chronicles. There, the Snooty
Fox pub is popular for evening meals, as is the Oddfellows
Arms in Caldbeck, the next village along over the fell road.
