Booking Information

We take full week bookings (Saturday to Saturday) throughout the year. Weekend bookings are £210 (three nights) in the off-peak season (end October to Easter).

We will hold provisional telephone bookings for a few days and confirm bookings on receipt of a deposit (as shown on the tariff sheet). Payment in full is to be made six weeks prior to arrival by cheque made payable to Sally Ltd (and sent to Sally Fielding at Rivendell, Bassenthwaite, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4QP).

Guests are asked to vacate the cottage by 10.30am on the day of departure and not to arrive before 3.30pm in order to uphold high standards in cleaning and maintenance. However, we do expect our guests to leave the cottage in a clean and orderly condition!

Fuel and electricity are included in the cost and the beds will be freshly made up for you. You need to bring your own towels.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your holiday, we regret that any deposits or rental monies received are non returnable and non transferable. We advise you therefore to take out holiday insurance.

Pets are welcome at an additional charge of £15 although I'm afraid we can only accept two dogs per visit. Dogs are absolutely not allowed in any of the bedrooms and we ask that they don't use the furniture downstairs. Please note that dogs must be kept under control as there are neighbouring properties.

  • We advise our clients to take out holiday insurance.
  • The house has oil central heating throughout and there is also an open fire
  • The cottage operates a no smoking policy.
